Intuitive Artist

At the beginning of the techno-boom, when desktop publishing was the buzzword, and the Internet was just around the corner, I was chiseling slate and beating plant fibers. I preferred calming sunsets and mountain springs to electronic bells and whistles. Having been an urban dweller for more than 20 years, embracing each new gadget and technical advancement, I looked to the earth for balance. The elements were to help remind me of my true self and seemed to inspire the essence of my work. To my delight, many people found solace in the elements and were very encouraging, to which Zen Again Productions was born.

It was early into the '90's when I realized that "my art" had become our "product line" - a hard bite to swallow. Hindsight being 20/20, it is easy now to recognize that what I considered personal inspirations were reflections of a group conscious that was about to influence lifestyle choices and market trends well beyond the twentieth century.

Historically speaking one can trace the human fascination with water features hrough the ages. We must acknowledge the soothing effects of running water when we see audio devices being promoted that imitate rain fall, ocean waves and babbling brooks. The duality here, is that while cell phones and laptops create a sense of freedom and control; we hunger for solid ground and tangible goods.

Zen Again 's growing popularity is reflected in the trend of the healing arts to reduce stress - from the practice of Feng Shui* to massage and Aromatherapy. Businesses and individuals alike seek to enhance the environment, in which they live and work. Observe hospitals creating a more holistic "home like" atmosphere to the maternity wards. Check out how many American owned Banks and Hotels are consulting with Feng Shui* practitioners for guidance in design and structural placement.

The proof is evident, despite all the glass, glitter and gigabytes, there is a subtle but strong movement essential to us as human beings (or being humans) - not an edgy fashion statement or a fad of the moment, but an intuitive trend reflective of our innate desire for peace and serenity.

* Feng Shui (Fung Shway) literally means "wild and water".
An ancient Chinese Art form. The practice of placement with purpose, understanding that the environment in which we live and work has a direct effect on our health, prosperity and relationships by either inhibiting or enhancing the "Life Force" or flow of energy. Often the use of plants, lights, mirrors or moving water are given as a cure for stagnant areas of a room, believed to correspond with an area of one's life.
